A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Wednesday, August 9 - Sunday, August 13
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Craig Johnson
Join us for Highland Center for the Arts inaugural theater production — William Shakespeare’s beguiling comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Funny, physical, romantic, delightful, magical, and touching on the very human follies and fun of falling in love, this community/professional collaboration will involve professional actors and production staff and community members working together to create a truly extraordinary experience. Set in an enchanted forest in the days surrounding the Duke of Athens’ wedding, sparring lovers and a group of amateur actors become entangled in a battle between the King and Queen of the fairies. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a story of order and disorder, reality and appearance, and love and marriage, and proves that the course of love never does run smooth. Filled with magic, royal battles, fools in love, and bumbling buffoons, this dream is extremely accessible to the old and young alike.
Wednesday – Saturday evenings at 7:00 pm, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm, Sunday afternoon at 5:00 pm
