THE HEIRESS

Come support local Greensboro musician and filmmaker Heidi Lauren Duke as she showcases her award-winning short film THE HEIRESS in its Vermont premiere, after screening in Monte Carlo, Toronto, Greece, London and Mexico. She will introduce the film, which she wrote and directed, with a brief selection of songs that led to the film being made, and the original song she wrote for the film. She will be joined by special guest, pianist Ira Friedman.

The film is a whirlwind look into the life of Christina Onassis, Jackie O’s stepdaughter, who inherited the outrageous fortune and a fleet of 88 ships of her father, Aristotle Onassis, all before her 25th birthday. In the film, the lovelorn shipping heiress scrambles to negotiate the largest international tanker deal ever, and also find herself the perfect date to New Year’s Eve, all from her New York penthouse. When her plans are derailed by an unexpected suitor, she struggles to make sense of the fate she’s been handed. In the end, she must face her fears and stand up to the world that sees her as nothing more than a tabloid headline. Starring Lilli Kay (from TV’s YELLOWSTONE, YOUR HONOR, STICK) and Matilda Szydagis (MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL).
