The Vermont Philharmonic brings its big orchestral sound to the HCA patio.
Under the baton of maestro Lou Kosma, the orchestra will entertain the audience with music from West Side Story and Carmen (“March of the Toreadors”) and composers Leroy Anderson and Duke Ellington. VP concertmistress Joanna Alpizar will sing Sabor a Mi, and principal clarinetist Margaret Barsumian will perform the traditional Clarinet Polka. The program also features a work by a young Vermont composer, Alexander Maroney, along with audience favorites “Washington Post March”, “Ashokan Farewell”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, and “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”. The program concludes, of course, with “The Stars and Stripes Forever”.
Vermont’s oldest community orchestra, the Vermont Philharmonic has been making beautiful music in central Vermont since 1959. You can find more information about the Orchestra at www.vermontphilharmonic.com.
The concert is free, but donations will be accepted to help support the VT Philharmonic. In the case of inclement weather, the concert will be move to the HCA Main Stage.
