This piece is one in a series of four (Earth, Air, Fire, Water) celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.  Amazing that we have only been actively celebrating the Earth as a living ecosystem for 50 years.

Dirt is Not Common is a love letter to the thin crust we depend on – and continue to poison, deplete, and pave over.

Roughly 12″ square mixed media: Wood, Acrylic, Beads, Yarn, Embroidery floss, Cheesecloth

  1. What a unique piece! Every spring I cannot wait to get my hands in the dirt after a long VT winter. Dirt is beautiful and I apprciate the way you have honored it.
