The Four Seasons is a collection of four concertos, in which Vivaldi captures musical expressions of each season. The piece is a joy for the musicians to perform and for the audience to listen to; and it is often paired with Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.

A set of four tangos, originally written for  Piazzolla’s own quintet, the work presented at the concert is an arrangement by Leonid Desyatnikov in which he pays homage and uses direct quotes from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons – a modern take on the piece that was written 250 years earlier.
