I made the drawing on the left back in the 1970s, then recently discovered the potholder on the right that was made by my great aunt Lucy Ardena Butterfield, probably in the 1930s or 1940s. I was amazed at the similarity to my drawing. I do see her in dreams occasionally, and when I was a child I knew her as an older woman who had infinite patience while teaching me to play rummy.
