Ecstatic Dance

Every Thursday, 5:00PM-7:00PM

Ecstatic dance is a freeform movement practice which is nonjudgmental in nature and encourages self reflection, authentic expression, and an abandonment of choreography, planned movements, or any traditional dance “norms.” This is a non-conversational space curated by a musical wave that starts gently, builds to a climax, and slows again to stillness.

No dance experience is necessary, as this is a space to be free, explorative, and even unconventional in your movement. Ecstatic dance is a space that lends itself to trance-like states, healing experiences, and deep connection with self (and with others, if you choose). Opening & closing circles will take place to create a safe container, orient dancers to the space/practice, and foster group connection.

Studio opens at 5:00PM. Please be seated in circle by 5:30 for opening circle.
